| The annual education budget of $14,800 impacts 2400 children in the three main schools in our area. This $1,230 per month (only 51 cents per student) creates the basis for teaching these young citizens the value of respect for life, as well as teaching them the concept of RESPONSIBILITY. |

Funds needed in order to continue the spay/neuter project
for a period of one year
| Total funds needed to operate the project for one year |
|
$7,440 |
| This amount represents a figure of $620 per month, and includes 70 castrations per month. It has been calculated that 50% of the animals will be strays or pets belonging to extremely low income families, who typically are unable to pay the full price of the surgery. |

Funds needed in order to continue the other projects — adoption and helping low income families —
for a period of one year
| Total funds needed to operate adoption and helping low income families projects for one year |
|
$7,200 |
This amount is $600.00 per month. This includes an initial veterinary evaluation of abandoned/stray & abused animals. Necessary medical attention, vaccinations, de-worming and pest control is provided as needed, and the animal is spayed or neutered before being released for adoption as well. This also includes pet food and meds to support the animals in the foster homes until the animal is adopted. We estimate 400 animals were processed in our adoption program in 2010. This does not include emergency transportation to the University Clinic in Heredia, orthopedic operations or any other special and/or expensive treatments which are funded, case by case, via donations from various individuals. |
